Hello everyone, Some days ago I was walking along a beach in the Algarve region of Portugal and while looking for shells and mollusc fossils, I found what I believe to be a fossilized shark tooth. I have never found any fossils of elasmobranchs in this place or otherwise so I have no idea what species it could be. This specimen was found in a beach with no rocky outcrops ( except sand heheh ), so I don´t really know what geologic time frame it falls into. Any help with id or with online resources for shark teeth identification is greatly appreciated.

Would appreciate any help in identifying this. It’s about the size of a hand across. I am new to this so not got a clue. Hope someone on here can help. regards Dean

Found this mini megalodon tooth well embedded in the rock. Took me couple of hours and a lot of patience to take it out!!

Hello from Portugal! A 100% layman here. Not even sure if this is in fact a fossil, but am very intrigued by its shape. Seems partially fossilized - the sides are stoney and symmetrically flanking what appears to be a fragment of some form of segmented exoskeleton (?) which seems quite hard and strong despite its flakey appearance. I found it in the Algarve, at Galé Beach / Praia de Galé in Albufeira, Portugal. Have you seen similar finds? So interested in hearing your thoughts! PS I tried to provide useful photos, definitely let me know if I can do better to enhance the inspection!

Hi, Found this rock containing bivalves in Algarve (Portugal), somewhere between de beaches of 'Praia de Cacela Velha' and 'Praia de Manta Rota'. I broke that rock, and inside is this. Can you please identify it? Thank you.

Please ID this white hexagonal prism, about 5,5 milimeters wide. Found it in Algarve, Portugal (miocene, I guess). I would also ask you to please advise me how to preserve it. Shall I varnish it? Thank you.

Is this a bone? Of which animal? It's a little heavy, weighing 40 grams. The maximum length is 70 millimeters; the thinnest section is 15x30mm. Maybe not a fossil, but I am curious. Found it in Algarve, Portugal (miocene, I guess). I would also ask you to please advise me how to preserve it. Shall I varnish it? Thank you.

Hello everyone! I'm new here so please forgive me for making any mistakes or for not thoroughly reading through other topics/sections before posting here. I went to Portugal with my family almost 3 years ago and came across a few interesting sea shells on top of the cliff leading down to the beach. I'm always intrigued and fascinated by things which have a lot of age or have a story to tell. Can anyone say or estimate how old some of these shells/fossils are? Some look a lot older than others. Edit : So it only seems to allow me to upload up to 3.95MB. One image alone is 3.5MB. Will post again with the other pictures.

Hi all, Quickly asking for an ID: is this a piece of Dentalina? And is it fossil? It was found in the Formacao dos Olhos de Agua (Miocene), Algarve, Portugal. Any ideas welcome! Best regards, Max
