Fossil Primate Jaw Identifacation,Chimpanzee, Gigantopithecus???
AustraliaFossils posted a topic in Fossil ID
Hi guys, I was wondering if any of you could help me ID this fossil. I have done some research into it and know it is from some sort of primate, The seller doesn't know much about it except that he found it at a curio shop on the Texas Oklahoma border in the early 1960's. Any help would be much appreciated. I have listed some pictures below to help with the process. Thanks, Ryan- 2 replies

S So, here's an inaccurate recreation of what Proconsul africanus may have looked like. My teacher asked our class to draw a picture of anything associated with human evolution. I also decided to sketch a small picture of a skull of Proconsul. So, yeah, that's pretty much it. (sorry for the bad quality, I took the picture on my iPad :\/ )
