Picked up both of these in the same gravel pile on thePeace River this past week. I showed the suspected astragalus in the trip section and @Shellseeker, Jack, replied that he thought the size and shape were right for tridactyl. The astragalus along with the second find of what I believe to be is a partial calcaneum have me thinking both could be from a three toed horse. I found an incisor for a three toed horse in this same area last spring. I would appreciate any opinions as to the ID on both of these. Thanks! First up is the astragalus measuring 32mm long x 27mm wide x 19mm high: Next is what I think is a partial calcaneum measuring 46mm x 30mm. Looks to have been broken in half lengthwise.

I have four finds from the Peace River that I have not been able to ID. They have been picked up on two recent visits to the river and I have been searching on line and on the Forum for a match without success. At least one may just be a suggestively shaped rock. I am pretty confident the other three are bone but I have not been able to figure them out. Came up with the astragulus and phalange possibilities looking through textbook materials. I would appreciate any ideas from some of our more experienced Forum veterans. First up the possible astragulus that measures 52mm x 48mm x 46mm Next up the one that may just be a suggestively shaped rock. It measures 60mm x 30mm x 40mm: The third is a possible phalange? Measures 38mm x 37mm x 18mm; Lastly, an oddball shaped one that I think may be the end of a limb bone? It measures 43mm x 37mm x 30mm; Thanks for looking, any comments would be appreciated! Jim W.

I found this bone in the Peace River on my last visit before the recent storm. Hoping to get some help with an identification and don't really know if that is even possible. Any comments would be appreciated. Thanks.
