Hey guys, I've got a couple of things here that I suspect are probably geofacts, but just wanted to see what others thought. Both of these items were found in the Mojave Desert, southern CA, near the NV border.
The texture on this one was unusual, smooth but with slight ridges on one side; in a way it almost seems like bone (or maybe wood?) - but then the other side was rather flat...
I picked up this one at first thinking it might have been an artifact (i.e. a stone biface). Smooth sedimentary rock with unusual dimensions. I've found several of similar shape in the area. I thought maybe mollusk shells had filled up with sediment, then worn away, leaving a cast. There does appear to be remains of a different type of mineral on the outside.
Thanks!
Zach
