I recieved permission to fossil hunt the quarry in the western "suburb" of Bromide Oklahoma and am currently trying to finish identifying my fossil finds. One would think the Ordovician Bromide Formation would exist here but when looking at maps of Oklahoma geology, it lists the area as Middle Pennsylvanian. Can anyone clarify what rock I was looking at? Thanks!!! Mike

Hey folks. It hit 104 degrees here in Austin yesterday and I have decided to stay in and work on my recent finds in Oklahoma. I have a bunch of Bromide Formation, Simpson Group, Blackriverian (Upper Ordovician) brachiopods that need sorting out. I have Mark McKinzie's book and a few OKGS publications but was wondering if anyone can suggest a "good" reference for sorting them out? In fact this could include references on other inverts from that formation and age. Thanks in advance...

A couple of weeks ago I made a weekend trip to Oklahoma to collect from several exposures of the Late Ordovician Bromide Formation, Mountain Lake Member. At one site I picked up this trilobite pygidium that I cannot seem to quite pinpoint with any of the trilobites I have seen in the literature from the Bromide Formation, Mountain Lake Member. It measures about 2.2cm in length. Does anyone recognize this trilobite tail? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance!

These two fossils were collected 2 years ago in the bromide formation in the Arbuckle mountains of Oklahoma. Does anyone know what they are?
