Hi everyone, I just found this tooth last week at Brownies Beach. First I thought it was a broken mako, but the serrations in the edges and the fact that the tooth is hollow at the base, makes me think that in fact, this is a tooth from a Squalodon. Thanks for your answers

Hi everyone! My girlfriend and I are going to attempt another trip to Calvert Cliffs next weekend. We would love to find a megalodon tooth or vertebrate fossil. We have hip wader and are thinking about going to the Matoaka Beach Cabins and walking north. We were thinking of going a few feet into the water, where larger material has been sorted, and using a sand scooper. For you seasoned experts out there, does this seem like the way to go? I would love any advice! Thanks, Peter

Calvert Cliffs - Driving from Andrews Air Force Base on Fri Afternoon - Advice Request
Paleodad5 posted a topic in Fossil Hunting Trips
Calvert Cliffs - I plan on driving from Andrews Air Force Base on Fri Afternoon (22 July) to fossil hunt. Any advice on where to hunt? I brought my neoprene water boots, sifter, and small shovel. Anyone interested in hunting with me? I am also planning on a Saturday morning hunt. I have a 15:30 flight out back to TX, so I figure I could get to Calvert Cliffs by 06:00 and hunt several hours.- Houston Gem & Mineral Society, Paleo Section Member
