1st Trip to Maryland For Shark Teeth and Would Appreciate Insights
AlwaysISOSharkTeeth412 posted a topic in Fossil Hunting Trips
Hi everyone! I’m a novice shark tooth enthusiast who lives in western Pa. I’m taking a day trip to the Calvert Cliffs area this coming Sunday for the first time to search for shark teeth. Based on my cursory research aka google, I was thinking to try Matoaka cabins, but I wanted to see what the member of this forum think would be the best place to go to given my non-resident status. Any tips on the area would be GREATLY appreciated!!- 5 replies

Found this piece from Calvert Cliffs state park in Maryland. This piece is very bumpy and almost could be described as looking like a dark brown brain. What could this be?

Found this piece from Calvert Cliffs state park in Maryland. Seems like it is some kind of a joint connection, due to the socket sort of look to it. Does anyone know what this is or what it could be from?

https://thebaynet.com/whale-skull-extraction-at-maryland-beach/ Matoaka Beach Nice Skull found.... Cody Goddard are you on here? You're in the news, very nice. The skull, affectionately christened “Cody,” is the most complete fossil whale skull ever recovered from that section of Calvert Cliffs. Dr. Stephen Godfrey right up front ;-)
