Hey all, During a discussion about different locations in the Kem Kem, this tooth came up. It always puzzled me, but I figured it was just an odd Carch tooth. But the reaction I got sounded like it was worth taking some better pics of. Any thoughts? Kem Kem is all I've got CH: 26mm CBL: 16mm CBW: 7.75mm Mesial serration density: about 2.75/mm Distal serration density: about 2.75/mm Thank you!!

Authentic Kem Kem Fossils? Composites?
eurichhhh posted a topic in Is It Real? How to Recognize Fossil Fabrications
Hello! I'm a new member and I was hoping I could get some second opinions on some Kem Kem fossils I'm thinking about purchasing. I've only collected American species, and have been recently interested in bones out of the Kem Kem beds. I've stayed away thus far because of the stories of composite fossils and Frankenstein pieces, but I've come across a couple that I thought were interesting and fairly priced. Was hoping I could get some other thoughts before moving on any of them (wanna make sure they aren't composites or areas of fill look weird). I've attached pictures of three specimens I'm looking at. Any help would be greatly appreciated! 1) Spinosaurus Vertebra 2) Spinosaurus Rib I think this one is what it is, prep work doesn't look the best, but just wanted confirmation I guess. 3) Carcharadontosaurus vertebra (transverse processes) I was wondering if I could get help on confirming the id on this one, not really sure what carcharadontosaur vertebrae are supposed to be like. Centrum is missing, not sure if that's important for the id.- 2 replies

Carcharadontosaurus iguidensis tooth
Pterygotus posted a topic in Is It Real? How to Recognize Fossil Fabrications
This is being sold as a carcharadontosaurus iguidensis tooth from niger. Am I correct when I say carcharadontosaurus iguidensis from niger was incredibly rare? Also the seller says that it is from Nigeria in the description but the certificate of authenticity states that it’s from niger. It looks just like a regular carcharadontosaurus saharicus tooth from Morocco but I may be wrong. Is this genuine?- 4 replies

I saw this carcharadontosaurus saharicus tooth for sale but in my opinion it looks like it’s been fossilized as a gembone. What are everyone’s opinions? It is from Cretaceous deposits south of tuoaz, Morocco. It is 17mm. I have never seen any gem bones from Morocco before.
