Does anyone know if there is anywhere to collect brachipods and other inverts in the Silica Hills of West Texas? I am a geologist who used to live In Austin, TX (20 years ago). I recently asked some colleagues who did hydrogeologic and geologic fieldwork in west TX, but have not gotten any leads. They say all(?) on private property. This is a bucket list trip for a buddy of mine!!!

I watched a youtube video on a fossil collection someone had purchased, and someone in the comment section actually said something like "buying fossils is for (expletive). I found another site I want to survey. If it looks good I will get in the creek and hunt for teeth and other fossils. No guarantee that there will be teeth there, although this is a a creek that HAS produced good sized teeth. I have never been to this particular location within this creek but have been to others WAY up stream with so-so luck. This particular location is not a location that I know of anyone having hunted before. It is much further down the creek than I usually go. I found this location using Google maps. I am targeting Jan 30 or Jan 31. The temperature is predicted to be 71 deg

I am still interested in expanding my fossil collection, and i´ve been looking at various option in my home city, but there is literally only one single mineral store, and it really is quite small. I´ve visited it a few times and for now they don´t really have anything i am absolutely interested in. Since fossil sites are so far away, i can only collect at them occasionally, and then again, reptile fossils (which i am most interested in) don´t occur too often around here. I don´t really feel like ordering from international websites (such as eBay or any of the international fossil stores) at
