Someone brought in this nice steinkern of a large gastropod found last week in the Middle Devonian Columbus Limestone near Columbus, Ohio. It is likely Pleuronotus decewi. Because I don't yet have this taxon (nor any palaeozoic gastropod taxa of that size), I took the opportunity to mold and cast it. These have a base-color that was added to the casting medium, but no color matching paint treatment has yet been applied (these are hot off the "press").
