I found this in some creek rock, it looked like a head so I kept it.. I'm no photographer, but you get the idea. If you can zoom in on the mouth. You can see fangs. What has me convinced, in the back of the head, you can see it's spine. When magnified. You can really Make it out. Any help is appreciated

I found this specimen in a dried creek-bed in Pennsylvania, USA. I previously found beautiful petrified wood pieces in the same exact spot (I assume they are petrified wood based on some research I did). The matrix of this specimen has similarities to some of the petrified wood pieces I came across while exploring that creek-bed. From my untrained eye, it looks like tiny creatures latched onto this wood before petrification. There appears to be 3 of the same species all sitting closely together. One of the three looks like it was cut in half at some point and now displays a perfect cross section...possibly of its nervous system...?! There are lines trailing behind the circles (for lack of better words), giving the appearance of tentacles or antennas of some sort? I’m very sorry for posting so much- i got bored yesterday so i put on my boots and went down to the creek not too far from my house! This specimen in particular caught my eye- while it’s probably just an eroded rock or something, i’d still like to see what yall think!

Found this strange rock or fossil out in a creek on the land i’m currently living on in cross roads, tx. I was mostly intruiged by the cracks- though I wouldn’t be surprised nor disappointed if it was just a strange rock.

Hi folks, I found this fossil a while back along the bed of a small creek that runs through our property in southern Ontario, Canada. The pronounced cells remind me a lot of honeycomb, but I’ve heard that would be quite rare to find fossilized. I’m thinking a coral might be more likely, but I don’t know a lot about fossils. Any input is appreciated.

I have found this tooth back around christmas of 2021 in the creeks of Fort Gibson, Oklahoma and i just cannot seem to find out what it is. i’ve tried reverse image search and google but nothing pops up. My grandpa, who knows everything about the wilderness has no idea what it is. we were looking for arrowheads but i found this instead.

Hey guys! Hope everyone is doing well. I found this in a creekbed in west Alabama where I hunt for fossils from the Cretaceous period. I have found some Paleo-Indian artifacts in this area as well. Wondering if anyone knows what this object is. The raised "string-like" areas follow a pattern as if it has been wound around the rock. The bottom sides are somewhat smooth as well as two of the longer sides-opposite each other. Is it an artifact? Or some sort of fossil? Or none of the above. Thanks for you help!

I was just wondering what some of y'all might think of this rock? I found it in a creekbed at a location where I have found several artifacts and fossils but wasn't sure what to think about this rock and it is intriguing to me.

Is this little ~1.5 cm /half inch disk a trilobite? I've never found one before, and my wife found this today. No detail on bottom...it's all in the image. My attempts to brush off the sand have caused pieces to break off and crumble, so I'm not going to try to expose more. It was in an area full of orthocone nautiloids and byssonichia shell imprints.

Howdy. Found this in a creekbed in South Texas. Curious as to what exactly it is as well as approximate age and what else can be found in the same area as these. I find quite a few of these so they seem extremely common. Typically in various sizes this being around the average

A walk down the creek in Longbranch yields marine fossils
markjw posted a topic in Fossil Hunting Trips
A 15cm fossil from "Nautiloid Alley" alongside the creek in Long Branch, Ontario. Also separate images from a "two-fer". For some reason, one sometimes encounters 2 or 3 close together in the same medium sized rock.- 12 replies

The larger one measures 2.5" long and 1.625" wide. The smaller one measures 1.5"X1.5". I found them separately on the same creek about 4-500 yards apart near Union Church Mississippi
