Hey there! Super new to fossil hunting, though I have been collecting for most of my life. In the past I have stumbled onto fossils by chance. It's incredibly rewarding to go out specifically to hunt and actually find fossils on purpose! I think I'm in love with it <3 So far I have only actively hunted in the North Sulfur River (Ladonia, TX). I would love for other hunting spot recommendations! I joined this forum primarily to learn. I am very curious about identifications for some pieces I have found. Fingers crossed! I'll attach photos of the sea urchins(?), not necessarily for identification, but more to test out if I have sized the pictures correctly for future posts in the proper section The larger, paler one I found years ago in Canyon Lake, TX. The two smaller ones I found in Denton, TX on the plot of where my future house will be Sorry for the long post! Looking forward to being here, hopefully learning a thing or two and making some new friends! <3

Does anyone know any good fossil sites in Denton or Wise county? I am particularly looking for shark teeth but anything will do. I have fossil hunting fever and would love some interesting new places to try.

I have some extra fossils I want to trade. I'm looking for trilobites or megalodon teeth but I will consider other offers. The first group is from the Grayson Marl Formation in Denton County, Texas. It includes two Mariella ammonites, two shells, two clams, three brachiopods, two partial Cymatoceras nautiloids and one complete Cymatoceras.

Couple weeks ago I was able to find a day off to go and look for some dead things...:) Denton is 5 hrs away from Houston but I wanted to go there and explore the surrounding areas, left Houston early, arrive at 11am and spent until 6pm when the sun decided it was enough for me...and then back to Houston. I arrived at midnight happy and tired. A Brown / Reddish Ammo and what I believe is a FAT Nautilus where the best finds of the day. I thought the nautilus was way bigger than the Ammo but both are exactly 8 inches in diameter, however the Nautilus has easily twice the mass. Three in situ pics are shown. I was able to work for 4-5 hrs at HGMS on the Ammo and I show how it looks now.

Today I went fossil hunting down to Denton, Texas. The weather was fairly nice with some wind. The outcome were some turrilite fragments, a ton of exogyra arietina (for selling), an echinoid, some Cetaceous/Jurassic sea floor, brachiopods and a clam. Echinoid Brachiopods Some of many Exogyra Arietina Turrilite Cretaceous or Jurassic sea floor

Hey, I found a few shark teeth in the Eagle Ford fm in a construction site in the town of Denton, just north of Dalla. Can someone help me identify what shark species they are ? Also, there were these large shells that appeared rotated, and they were extremely common in the area. Any idea on what those are as well? Thanks
