I have been on a few geology forums recently looking to post some pictures for ID help. Some of the other posters on those sites received replies with snark and sarcasm. To be fair my experience is just a small snapshot im sure, but I really haven't seen that on this site. Everyone seems helpful and informative so far. Anyone know of a similar geology site that encourages learning? Thank you!

I just recently came across a very helpful website: https://www.microbehunter.com/microscopy-forum It is a friendly site, and I’ve gotten quick replies to some very specific questions about a vintage microscope I recently acquired. There are a number of forums, including one for people looking to buy/sell parts. Some of the folks there have some pretty obscure old microscope parts if you ever find yourself in need of some. They’re also good for advice on how to setup and optimize your microscope.

Has anyone noticed that The Fossil Forum is currently blocked on Facebook? When I try to post anything from here on Facebook, it says: The content you're trying to share includes a link that's been blocked for being spammy or unsafe. This is simply not true. I wrote Facebook the following letter: The Fossil Forum is a place for the discussion of educational, scientific, and popular topics related to fossils. It is a place for new and old fossil enthusiasts to find information, showcase their finds, and become a part of a growing and robust community. I do not believe the website to be abusive or spammy. The Fossil Forum is diligently moderated and generates much useful content related to paleontology and fossils. It would be in Facebook's interest to allow content from this popular site. Here is a link to my question on Facebook's Help Community page: https://www.facebook.com/help/community/question/?id=10100870958953077&added&referer=new_question Please take a moment to make a difference by reading this Community Question and "Liking" it to attract Facebook's attention. Facebook will listen and make changes provided there are enough users chiming in. I also found this suggestion on Facebook's Help Community page. : 1. Open your Facebook >>> go to "Help">>>"Community Forum" 2. Choose a topic such as "Chat", "Like" etc. 4. Choose a question that comes up on your screen. 5. Scroll down to the "Add Answer" 6. Copy my answer and put it down on "Add Answer" 7. Help to push the "Helpful" of friends 8. Do this several times a day to help unblock Facebook Thanks all.
