Hello everyone, I am new to the forum and look forward to browsing all the material, it looks fascinating. I am asking for any help with the identification of a rock/fossil that is quite odd. I am unsure of the location where it was discovered. It was in my grandfathers collection of old peculiar things. The eggs is roughly 5 inches long by 2.5 inches wide. It’s not heavy, it’s porous with micro agatized dotting throughout. I know dinosaur eggs are generally heavy, so I’m stumped as to what this is. Thanks in advance for any help provided, Mike

... It looks like it, but I found it in Western Massachusetts, and I didn’t think we had any here? There’s two different pieces. One is much bigger and kind of looks like a leg of lamb or something. there is an edge on it that’s kind of grayish and feels like wood, almost like that part of the wood hardened but didn’t change color or anything. the other piece is a little smaller than my palm & has more obvious banding.

Possible Egg?!?! looks like Sediment leaked in with a black color
CoyoteAbides posted a topic in Fossil ID
I found this along the central Oregon Coast. I was so curious about what it looked like inside, so I cut it in half. I was thinking maybe some type of reptile or amphibian egg. It looks like something seeped into the "Egg" rock that created the black discoloration on the edges and some interior parts. Any idea on what this might be would be greatly appreciated.- 6 replies

I found this tooth in Ladonia, Texas. It was sitting almost on the surface of a river bank. I’ve researched and think it is a M1 molar but I do not know if it is cow or bison. Also, I don’t know if it is a fossil or recent. If someone could help it would be much appreciated!

Is it a real fossil skull?
Matt3030 posted a topic in Is It Real? How to Recognize Fossil Fabrications
I am curious as to whether or not this is a fossilized animal skull. I found it in a section of woods in San Antonio TX that was a Paleo Indian camp thousands of years ago. I have found several Paleo Indian Points and tools also. Does anyone have any input concerning this piece?- 6 replies

@Al Dente Not having much luck trying to find a match on google images. About 3 cm = 1 1/4 inch long. Flat surface with four whorls with center hole in each, one end raised and additional piece at the raised end. Hopefully the cell phone photos are adequate to ID. Last photo is where the root should be attached.
