Where to buy a fossil display case in Europe
pachy-pleuro-whatnot-odon posted a topic in Questions & Answers
Hi all, A couple of years ago I built up quite a collection of Moroccan mosasaur teeth, which, unfortunately, are now lying in various boxes wrapped in plastic. I'd really like to put them out on display, however haven't found the right way to do so. Preferably, I'd be looking for something like an old-style museum display cabinet, where the teeth would rest on red velvet (or felt, foam, etc.). Now I came across these display cases on one of the big auction sites today, and this really seems to meet my needs. Unfortunately, though, they're slightly more expensive than I had imagined. What -
Another saturday morning in Big Brook not the best results but a great day none the less Suggested to me by some folks i've met in the water and i'll pass the suggestion on to other folks here who, like me, are relatively new to Big Brook: I fasten a heavy plastic bag to my belt and when i come across glass or metal or plastic, i put it in the bag and take it out. (i think i found more glass than shark teeth today) we, as a community, should do all we can to make Big Brook cleaner and safer. And if it helps to make the "authorities" more amenable to letting us ke

Does anyone know of anywhere that sells anything from the Permian extinction layer? I have matrix/micro glass beads from the KT boundary layer, but I can’t find anything like that from the Permian/Triassic boundary layer, but I can’t imagine there just wouldn’t be anything for sale anywhere, so I was wondering if anyone could point me in the right direction. I’d be curious about remnants of any extinction, but I’m specifically interested in anything Permian extinction.

From the album: Invertebrates and plants(& misc.)
Debris, including micro glass "beads" from melted earth ejected into the air, from the KT boundary burn layer. Garfield county, Montana, Hell Creek formation. Late cretaceous (duh) *i added "misc." to this album because this didn't fit anywhere, and I thought it was really cool and should definitely be included somewhere. **There could even be vaporized dinosaur material as part of the glass and melted debris included. There definitely was plenty of it, but I guess realistically, unless it became evenly spread into the atmosphere and airborne debris, this is -
I have what looks like possibly agates with tight bands, layers and patterns. Or possibly a type of volcanic glass? The yellowish one is transparent. The red one is almost transparent but looks like red amber. And the neon orange has patterns like an agate. I tried to get better pics but I really can't. I have never seen such color before. Thank you!

Hello: As I am going through my collection, I really want to display the good ones that I have. I have looked at display cases online and have come to the conclusion that I could probably refurbish a bookcase that I already have to display my goodies. I presently have 2 bookcases and thought of getting rid of the wood shelving and replace it with thick tempered glass and installing a few lights at the top, maybe a white or mirrored background and glass doors?? Has anyone undertaken a project like this?
