I recently found this while looking for a find out in the wild. I am not sure what this is, considering I found it in a river, but it seems like it may be a snail/slug/gastropod I am an amateur, so I can't easily identify things. I am looking for the scientific name for this species though, because I am working on a display box for some of the fossils I have found already. Also, I did barely any digging, for anyone's information. and in the image I am including a reference drawing because the quality of the camera I own is garbage (sorry). Any information helps.

Hi All! I'm trying to identify this fossil for a local museum, but I've never seen anything like it. We're not sure where it was found exactly, but definitely in Berrien County, MI. Our fossil record is heavily Devonian aquatic fossils, with later records of Pleistocene fauna. I'd be grateful for any help or tips anyone can give! Thanks! Katy

Hi, we recently found this at Big Brook Preserve (NJ). Anyone know what this could be? It is comes to a point, solid like a rock and was in the bottom of a creek bed. Thanks in advance for your help!

Hi, I'm wondering if anyone would be able to help me ID this? I found it on the coast of the Menai strait on a very rocky beach, between mainland wales and anglesey. It is 11cm long as seen in the photographs. Thanks, Toby

I found this shark tooth at a beach near St. Augustine. I have no clue what species it came from. It kind of looks like a goblin shark, but it also looks like the front tooth of a longfin mako. I have no knowledge of fossils and stuff, I just like to collect them because they look cool. Also, is the object on the right (in the last picture) a ray mouth plate? It was found on the same beach as the shark tooth was.

Hello fossil friends! I am very new to this world, my son and I started looking for geodes a few months ago and that has expanded into an amazing hobby, and a house full of rocks lol. I'm very intrigued with fossils/ bones but I don't know how to identify what we find! I'm pretty positive this is a tooth? Found in southwest Michigan, thanks in advance for any help!

Hello all! Well, I've done an initial search of the Sharktooth Hill matrix that @ynot sent me this week, and I'd like some help identifying some of the larger shark teeth - please and thank you! I think I'm right about the first three but I'm not so sure about the fourth since the root is worn down or covered by matrix, so it doesn't look exactly like the others - thoughts? I'm pretty sure about the one on the right but less sure about the one on the left - I did lump them together, though, since they both have a pretty obviously serrated shoulders. (By the way - I considered that the one on the left might be Sphyrna sp. (hammerhead), but I can't see a deep nutrient groove in the root.) Thoughts and opinions are much appreciated! I think this bunch of teeth just might be my favourite because of all the beautiful colours!!! Am I right about their identity, or should they be labelled as something else? None appear to have serrations, by the way. I doubt that I'm right about these ones since Isurus oxyrinchus (and I. retroflexus, the longfin mako) are not common for Sharktooth Hill, but I don't really know what else to suggest - please help! None of them have serrations, by the way. And finally (for now), a couple of tiny little teeth: Thanks so much for your help!!! Monica

I found this here in Houston there were a bunch of rocks. They probably were transported from central Texas. I was split them up and I found a "ball". I think this is a fossil from a marine creature.

I bought this ammonite in San luis potosi, Mexico. It comes from the geological formation of Taman. Which is late Tithonian- kimmeridgian in age. This ammonite looks weird!!! Can you'all help me identify the genus.

I found this fossil in Mexico. Specifically in Cerro de las mitras, Garcia Nuevo leon, Mexico. Cerro de las mitras is a mountain which has sediments from the Cretaceous period. I have found many other fossils there. But this one is special because I'm not even sure if it's a fossil. I found it 4 years ago. The fossil is dark in coloration and has line running. Is like an oval it runs all over the rock.The back

I think this is a bull shark tooth but I'm not pretty sure. It was found in florida. Tell what you'all think that it is.

I live on a couple acres in Black Canyon City and found these. I thought they may have been equine or bovine at first but after looking at pictures don't think so anymore. Any ideas?

These stones were collected at Bantek Petrified Forest in Northern Thailand. The formation is 800,000 years old. Can they be Indochinite Tektites, they have only a black skin? Regards, Dave
