    Is it possible to id between Moroccan Globidens phospaticus and Igdamanosaurus aegyptiacus teeth? Or does the separate teeth go as Globidensini indet?

    Hey all. I have an Igdamanosaurus agyptiacus tooth from the Late Cretaceous (Maastrichtian Stage) phosphate deposits of Morocco’s Oulad Abdoun Basin. It has one odd little spot with a maroon-covered gunk stuck to it, which I would like to gently clean off of it. The spot is on an area with intact enamel, right next to an area without enamel. First picture shows the spot I’m referring to, second and third are random pictures of this tooth, because why not? Fossil pictures are cool. It’s 1.27 inches wide if that matters, haha.

    Hi everyone, Some time ago I was doing some prep on a block from the Phospate mines of Khouribga in Morocco (Cretaceous, Maastrichtian, 70 mya) with some Idgamanosaurus teeth in it. There were a lot of goodies in the block besides the two rooted Igdamanosaurus teeth like some coprolites, fish verts, a mosasaur tooth, Cretalamna tooth & Enchodus tooth. But I also found this little shark tooth which is around 2 mm in length, but I can't seem find a proper ID for it. So I was hoping that there might be someone here on the forum with some knowlegde on micro teeth from Khouribga that might know what this tooth is. Thank you in advance!

    Igdamanosaurus aegyptiacus (Zdansky 1935)

    3.5x2.3m. Tooth Maastrichtian Late Cretaceous From Oued-Zem, Morocco Otherwise known all over the internet as Globidens aegyptiacus, but this was revised by Lingham-Soliar back in 1991.

    I purchased this fossil Globidens jaw fragment at a Gem and Mineral Show about a month ago. The crown of the tooth appears to be real, as does the jaw bone. Being cautious of Moroccan fakes, I made sure not to pay too much for the piece. While the individual parts appear to be genuine, I have noticed repair marks and markings that suggest the tooth may be composited onto the root. Any opinions or insight into the matter would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! - Geoff
