Hello! New member needing help identifying the fossils in these rocks found in Central NY. The rocks were underneath a shed that we demolished, so we don't know for sure where they originated. We live on the Oswego River, and it's possible the rocks were sourced from the shore or river bottom. Thank you for your help!

As I posted on another recent request for help on identification, I have collected and separated fossils into common groups and am working on identifying them. The area is near Skiatook lake in NE Oklahoma. This is another one that I have had trouble identifying. Any assistance would be appreciated. I am assuming this is a bivalve but not a brachiopod since no lateral mid-line(?) (not sure here). The thing that makes this so unusual is that where one side of the shell wraps around (typical), the other side sticks way out as a prominence.

Hello, I have been fossil hunting in Northeast Oklahoma near lake shores in an area where I have found bivalve, Bracheopod, and Crinoid fossils. I have been separating them into similar groups to identify them. May I get some help on this particular fossil type? Found in Northeast Oklahoma near the Lake Skiatook area. I am a newbie when it comes to fossil identification so I may be wrong on my tags.

When I was gardening this past summer I lucked out and found a fossil. For years (this garden is over twenty years in the making) I have been pulling shale out of it. This was my first fossil. With the help of some good books on fossils, and this group I have come close to identifying this fossil. It is possibly a coral. I am interested to know what time period this fossil may have come from. I do know that my area of the east end of Toronto used to be an inland sea. I'm curious to know what it might be, and excited for what next year might have in store for me.
