Hi everyone. I’m new to the forum. Nice to be here. Today I was walking on the mountain in the Balearia islands in the Mediterranean and found this strange rock. I’ve seen a few ammonites in the area but never something with this shape. Maybe it’s just a rock. it has the shape of a strawberry with a mark on top as if that were it was connected to a branch or it had leaves just like a carrot. it’s missing a part but you can tell the shape it’s way too simetric to be just a stone. im new to fossils so I cannot say much more about it. As I said, in the same area I found ammonites and belemnites. Although I found it higher in the mountain. On the pictures it’s hard to notice the real shape. It’s exactly like a strawberry and evenly round. Cheers

Can anybody tell me what this is? I have my idea, but no where near confident about it. I found this in N AZ about 30 min from the Chinle formation. I cleaned some sediment off, but not a lot of cleaning done.
