Hello: My child is really into fossils and we went to Waco Research Pit for the first time. We had a blast. We found snail shells and gastropod shells. The mud was just as sticky as everybody talked about....and it rained the night before.....We found one item that I am not sure. We are not versed on fossils. It looks to have a roundness and a purposeful shape. Let me know if anybody is familiar with this area. Thanks again and I recommend this place to any beginner with children. Just be sure and get the permit from the Army Corp of Engineer Office (Lake Waco.) The first picture has a round curve. The second picture is if you turned to look at bottom. The third picture is the other side of the round feature.

Hey guys, Been a while since I posted last but I'm still lurking. I'm still hunting and actually took my oldest son, Connor, yesterday out to Lake Waco Research Area. We hunted around for two hours and found just a few things. Discovered two more shark teeth, nice size vert and a very nice size Rhyncholites out there. We were mostly having fun looking at animal tracks but still found some fossils. Last month I went out there with my youngest son and found two really small shark teeth. Mainly I've been finding Leptostyrax teeth out there. Still on the hunt for a nice Squalicorax to add to my collection. So that's what I've been up to and diving into other hobbies as well. I also managed to get interested in collecting coins as well but that's another topic of discussion. Spring is here so it's time to get back out there and get hunting. Good luck everyone!
