From the album: The Mollusca of the Banjaard
An incomplete specimen of the trough clam. This subspecies is, as its name indicates, only known from the Dutch Pleistocene. The parent species Mactra stultorum is still alive. Status: extinct Fossil occurrence: uncommon© 2019 Max DEREME

A surf clam from the Zandmotor. These are incredibly common and pretty much litter the beach. Edit: I used to think that these were Mactra plistoneerlandica, aka Mactra stultorum plistoneerlandica, but didn't realize my mistake till recently.

From the album: @Max-fossils 's Zandmotor Finds
A clam found on the Zandmotor. Species: Mactra plistoneerlandica (but it could be Spisula solida, I'm not sure). The whole beach is filled with those, and even complete ones are extremely common.
