Hello! I found this 1.5 inch tooth yesterday in Monmouth County New Jersey Cretaceous and was hoping for some help on it. Xiphactinus was my most likely suspect due to the two cutting edges but it seems way too thin, and does not show any 'fluting'. Also, by (what is left of) the base, it has that 'bony' look I am not used to seeing. I found the old thread below regarding a tooth that looks similar and a lot of commenters thought it was Protosphyraena so I was wondering if that's what this could be. I can tell you, it's definitely late Cretaceous. Thanks for all the ID help this year! -Frank
