Hello everybody, I'm new to the fossil hunting. Have been In Florida for 5 yrs. I love shells, beaches, sunsets, photography, Rocks, coral and fossil. I stumbled across a mammoth tooth one Day in the mangroves, then found a saber-tooth tiger claw. Now I've discovered That some of the shells I've acquired are fossils. Recently my park had trucks Of dirt delivered and I saw shells in the dirt. Lots of shells!! An big pieces of agatized, Fossilized coral with crystals. Ok so now I'm hooked! Thanks for adding me! I added a few of my new finds. Kimber

Hello everyone, Paleontology has been a passion of mine my whole life, and due to a huge change of circumstances I am now free to explore (and fall madly in love with) fossil hunting! I have a good few fossils purchased from a good friend and fellow fossil fan. I now aim to go digging myself, and help prepare and preserve these amazing animals that once lived. So I say hello to everyone! Hopefully become good friends along the way.

Hello everyone! My uncle, an experienced fossil hunter, recommended the Fossil Forum to me. I've used it a few times for research but I wanted to become part of the community. I used to collect fossils as a kid, purchasing inexpensive ones in gift shops and hunting for shark's teeth at the beach. I was fascinated by how something that lived so long ago could be preserved. During the 2020 quarantine, my interest for prehistoric life was rekindled when I found my old fossil collection. I began sharing my small collection via "fossil of the week" with friends and my younger cousins over our regular videocalls. To prepare for fossil of the week, I would do a bit of my own research on the web to share my findings. I have hunted for a few fossils following the recommendations of some more experienced fossil hunters, but I mostly purchase smaller specimens to expand the variety in my collection. I am fascinated by fossils that give insight into how a creature lived and/or behaved. I am also an artist, and I am often inspired by the aesthetic beauty of fossils. My profile picture is an agatized ammonite, cleoniceras sp., 110 MYA, from Ambatolafia, Madagascar (according to the seller). The variety of colors in this ammonite look stunning in the sunlight, and with the shell polished away, the contrast of the different shades of agate look striking against the visible sutures. Maybe one day I'll attempt to paint it. Nature is amazing.

Hello! I am so excited to be a member of the Fossil Forum community! I live in Southern Ontario and I just recently started collecting fossils. Looking forward to making fossil friends. My collection at present is quite limited. What fossils would people recommend?
