While searching for sharks teeth, I found this object. It wasn’t down in the surf, it was up in the drier part of the sand. Has pretty distinctive groove on one side.

New fossil enthusiast from the Saint Augustine / Ponte Vedra beach area. started collecting shark teeth along the beaches here and now getting more serious expanding into creeks and such around the state. This forum has been an awesome learning tool the past few months and I've just been lurking.......until now. Cheers!

Hello!! So excited to find your forum. I've been hunting for over 18 years. It all started with finding my first shark tooth on Sanibel island. My grandfather hunted for old coins, jewlery, pottery etc in Connecticut throughout his life. He even published a few articles on some Indian artifacts he's found. I have a collection of items I've saved over the years and will be posting a few items to ID soon! Headed out to little Talbot tomorrow, hoping to find some treasures at low tide. Happy hunting!!

I have found a few tooth-like fossils on Ponte Vedra Beach over the past few years and have been unable to ID them. Here are two of the biggest I have found. I have also found a couple about half that size that seem to be the same. I was thinking maybe some kind of whale or dolphin tooth, but they do not look quite like the examples of those I have seen.
