I have just added 3 Abelisaur teeth to my collection, all from the same area, Ifezouane Formation Red Sandstone Beds, KemKem, Ouzina.... So not Phosphates, therefore.... As I'm aware, the only Abelisaur found in this area was Rugops, but is there a possibility of it being another of the Abelisauridae Family?? Thanks for any help guys!

This is a digital study of the head of Rugops primus. I screwed up some of the teeth (too recurved). I really should know better, haha.

Hello I recently found this claw labeled as Rugops primus finger. It also says it is a composite piece. I was wondering if the claw itself is authentic, without restoration. Location: listed as Kem Kem, near Taouz, Morocco.

I have here a theropod tooth from I-n-Abanghaghit, Niger. It was labeled as Rugops. However, I was suspicious after obtaining it. I consulted with someone who deals in Niger material, who noted that this locality is Jurassic and thus it could not be Rugops. I read Troodon's thread on identifying Niger theropods. Per that guide and other sources, it seems that the only option would be Afrovenator based on that locality (I think I-n-Abanghaghit is synonymous with Agadez but not completely sure on that). This tooth is 0.85" long. Distal serrations count is 10.2 / 5 mm. Mesial serrations are far too worn to count, I can only see traces of them. Because this appears to be a partial, I don't think posting base/height ratios would be useful. Based on that information, can an identification be confirmed? Thank you, Bellamy

Hello fellow members, I live in the Canberra area (Australia), I am 28 years old and have been collecting fossils since I was 9. My first fossil was a shell in a quarry around Newcastle and since then I have expanded. Just recently I bought a Paramylodon vert and a Rugops tooth. I have plenty more fossils in my collection (too much to describe here). My favorite dinosaurs are Deinocheirus and Pachycephalosaurus. I have always liked prehistory since I was a child and I don't see this hobby of mine dying anytime soon.

Hey guys, I saw this listed as a rugops tooth, the tip is restored. I know rugops tooth is pretty rare And I don’t have much experience. What do you guys think?

I've found another interesting tooth from kem kem, Rugops Primus or Abelisauridae indet. Is the best classification? Thanks
