  1. Hi, I saw this jaw section for sale and was wondering if it’s legitimate and if so, what is it? It measures approximately 6.5” x 4”. There is no collection data with it. thanks.
  2. Hi everyone, I am interested in picking up a hadrosaur egg as a gift to my wife, who is a dinosaur enthusiast. However, I'm worried about picking up a fake. I have found a couple of online listings, and I was wondering if I could get some feedback. As far as I can tell, one of the sellers is from a long-established group in the fossil community but I would like to double check this with someone through private messages. Attached are the photos. The ones with a light blue background are from the first seller (hence Seller_1), and the others are from another (Seller_2).
  3. Baryonyx tooth

Hi all, I'm interested in getting a Baryonyx tooth and there is one available. But it seems to have had unnecessary restoration which has also been done poorly. I was just wondering what opinions are there on getting it? I would really like one but the restoration is putting me off. Is it still worth it or should I wait for a better one to come along? (if they ever do!) Thanks
  4. This is my first time posting on this site. I have the opportunity to purchase a potential Dromaeosaur type dinosaur fossil from the Yixian Formation of China. I know there are laws about exporting these types of fossils but the dealer assures me it has been in his possession for a long time. Also, I am willing to take the risk to own an incredible piece of history like this. However, I am not sure if the fossil is real. Based on what I have seen and read the fossil looks like the real deal but would like some other people's advice about it. It is described as a Dromaeosaur type dinosaur which is what the skeleton looks like but would like anyone else's opinion on whether it is authentic or not. Thanks for you help! -Ryan

  7. Ottawafossil101's Collection

Hello, been away from the site for a while, but definitely not the hobby. Made contact with some interesting folks at skullstore.ca (Toronto, ON, Canada) and the collection and knowledge has been growing since. Check out their website and instagram, very neat stuff. Here's some items from my collection. One photo is me holding my new Green River Knightia Plate. Am I wrong or is there 2 kinds of knightia on there? It's cool because there are several cleaves with other unique fossils clearly poking out from underneath, but i wouldn't risk the plate's integrity on a whim. Any professionals near ottawa want to have a look? Here's a Branchiosaurus (Gill Lizard) 225 million year old (permian) from Pfalz, Germany. A large unknown dinosaur species' leg bone portion; cut and polished at the bottom. Can see the marrow and vein cavities. If only I had time to document them all, but just to tease I also have: fossil manatee jaw (10,000yrs old from florida), ammonites, spinosaurus teeth 3" long, giant megalodon teeth, shark and whale vertebrae, mammoth leg portions, awesome petrified wood from ontario with crystallized resin patches, bison bones half fossilized from the holocene, and much much more. More to come anyways, always enjoy sharing. Please post comment and enjoy, any fossil topic encouraged.
