found this stone back in the 90's in Camden, New Jersey. Possible bird or just a shell in the stone.

Good morning folks. I have a strange fossil that "looks" like it might be a devil's toenail or ???? It is filled with what looks like ocean debris. It looks like a shell, but has way too many layers. It also looks like some sort of coral or stromatolite. It came from a box of rocks purchased at a yard sale so there isn't any ID information. Anyone know what this really is?

Found North of Houston Texas USA in gravel load from Brazos River at first glance it seems to be a shell like pattern on the stone {why I picked it up} but the pattern seems to be the whole stone so thought perhaps compressed fossilized plant concretion? possible fossil wood? pulled out my macro camera and studied further....now I am stumped more photos to follow.....

Found this in the Peace River in the spring and have been trying to find something to compare it to ever since. Haven't been able to find anything like it. It has the appearance of shell or coral. The color is a dull gray and it has the look and feel of metal. Don't know if it is any type of fossil or just a suggestive "something". If anyone has seen anything similar or has any idea what it is your input would be appreciated.

Good day on the Peace River yesterday. Found horse, mammoth, mastodon teeth along with several varieties of shark teeth. Also pulled up the below specimen. It came up in one piece and I placed it in the shade on the bank. After about 30 minutes I picked it up to move it to my kayak. That is when the piece in my hand broke off. Retrieved as much of it as possible. Got it home in a plastic bag and submerged it in fresh water as soon as I could. Only took it out to take the photos. Small pieces continued to flake off the underside whenever it was touched. I tried to position it as it was fo

I think I may have found my first Devonian bryozoan. (From Sylvania, Ohio.) And I also am not sure if these are shell or plant impressions. The rock that I think has the bryozoan has many nifty whatnots to explore, but that pattern immediately caught my eye. I'm not sure if the fan shape on the second rock is plant or shell. And there's a small bit to the left of it that appears to be shell that I haven't started to ID yet. (Pics in second post) Thanks for any help.

I have this rock at least i think its a rock and was looking at it under a microscope ...if this is a fossil its the smallest I have found the white part is only half the size of a grain of rice if that. One pic is of it dry the others wet. its pretty just wish it was larger... has one large flower shaped patter and a couple smaller ones on it a lighter color

I have found two of these in separate places on the eastside. Taylor group. Contact/grey & the upper tan clay. The fossil has dips inside the groove. The first found was smooth in the undulating groove channel. This one has limonite on the nub tops. Anyone know what it is?

I like collecting shells on the beach. Was at Waldport, Oregon on Thursday and spotted what I thought was a shell. I was surprise to find something I've never seen before. Is this a fossil and if so, what is it? I attached a picture of the top & bottom. At it's widest points, it is 2" by 2/12".
