ID Ankylosaurus scute Judith River Formation (Alberta, Canada)
Mikej_fossils posted a topic in Fossil ID
I bought this Ankylosaur osteoderm scute awhile back. I hope the narrow down the species. The scute was found in the Judith River Formation in Aberta Canada. It is legally collected and was orginaly sold in the late 80's. There are several Ankylosaur species in the Judith River formation. Hope someone can narrow it down to one Its 17 cm or 6.7 inch. Thanks in advance!- 3 replies

So I bought this ammonite at a shop while I was on vacation but it didn't have the species/genus with it. So I would really like to know what the species is (if possible). Thanks in advance!

Last spring I found the below bone "ball joint" in the Peace River, FL. I consolidated it for preservation and have been trying to come up with a possible species ID ever since. I think I have narrowed it down to being the tip of a mammal humerus, but can't seem to get any further. Part of the problem is I can't find any photos or diagrams that provide measurements for the "ball joint" of any specimens I have looked at. All have overall measurements for the humerus but nothing focused on the joint. Measurements on the joint: Overall top of the "ball" = 60mm x 45mm Bone measures 55mm tall by 45mm wide Fits very comfortably into the palm of my hand and would make a great and interesting top for a cane. Any ideas on species would be appreciated, Thanks!

I picked this up recently from an internet auction house. The seller had no idea about it, since he knew absolutely nothing about fossils. I was hoping that someone might be able to guide me to at least the genus, when not the species and maybe also an idea about where it may have been found. The jaw partial is 5cm.long.

Found in Kansas, on surface in wooded area, moss covered, under a tree next to poison ivy. Did glance around to look for possible connecting pieces but did not espy. Top looks like a turtle. Am wondering if the bottom is also because of markings that don't seem like random impressions. Am still cleaning with soft toothbrush and white vinegar in a Zen like fashion. Tiny black balls on surface that aren't budging. Textures emerging. There is an area near the top part which I'm wondering if it is it's head. Hard to photograph end to end details well.

Hello everybody, This is far from a complete specimen but it is still one of my favorite fossils because its the only trilobite i've ever found. But let's get to the point shall we, I cant recall where the fossil was found. The trilobite is around 9 cm tall. Hoping ýou guys can shed some light on what species of trilobite it is, thanks in advance!
