It's not related to fossils, but astronomy is one of my other passions. I've managed to snap a few photos over the years.... Comet Halley, March 1986: Comet Hale-Bopp, March 1997: I hope to capture Comet ISON later this year.... Eclipse at sunset, May 2012: Venus transit at sunset, June 2012: Both events at sunset within a month.... What are the odds? Anyone else have astrophotos?

Hello everyone, I was wondering if Fossils (Shark Teeth, and Dinosaur Teeth / Claw) are in need of maintenance ? Are they ok with just being in open air in your house? Can they stand sunshine? Perhaps a weird question, but i was just wondering, the last thing you would want is to have your teeth fade or damaged. Thank you for your replies! Best,

Can the sun fade colours on rocks considerably ?
Pleuromya posted a topic in General Fossil Discussion
Hi, my space left for things is becoming smaller, so I thought I'd use my windowsill. I found different things online claiming different things. Will the rock colour fade or discolour at all due to being on the windowsill? Many thanks. -
I'm also into astrophotography along with all my hunting, fossiling, camping, metalworking, writing... I need to stay busy. Is anyone else on TFF as interested in staring up as well as down? If so, I'd love to see your pics. Here are a few of mine. I need help friends. A buddy of mine posted a pic of this on FB asking for help identifying it, no one could help. I loved it so I offered to buy it (which I did). This is all the information he could give me. My buddy's uncle died and left him a metal briefcase full of mostly old coins and a few other valuables. He lived in eastern Massachusetts. Items included really old papers, antique watches, coins as far back as the late 1800's and that thing. One interesting item was a fuel ration card from WWII... The intriguing part to me is how defined it is - it must be man made, right? Its about the size of a large coin or small pendant - I'm not even sure it's fossilized, it just looks that way to me. Your help identifying this would be greatly appreciated.
