Now that I posted my findings of my trip to Florida, it is now time to clarify IDs. This is very difficult for me with gastropod fossils of Florida due to the VAST number of species, many looking identical in pictures, but no text differentiating them.. So the following gastropods leave me with concern on my Identification. Please offer insight !!!!! The Museum of Natural History is a great start if anyone is looking into Shell identification in Florida. 1. Tough one for me. Came up with 6 different possibilities, 5 different genus's. So obviously, I am stumped. 2. This is a left handed gastropod! Came up with Contraconus linajoyceae or Conus adversaries. . 3. My conclusion is either Siphocyprae problematica or S. erica.

Just returned from a fabulous trip to Florida. Had the opportunity to hunt fossils for two days in two different locations, each day being productive. Will post more on this later. The item in question was found in a construction site near Venice Florida as I was going to dinner. It has me baffled. Looks like a clam stuck on top of something else. But the ventral view shows that this is all one piece. Hope an answer exists!!!
