I've got this piece of Oligocene amber from Montana which has a very odd hole running straight through it. I at first though that this could be from where the resin seeped out around a twig of its tree and the twig eventually rotted away, leaving this hole. Do you think that could be the cause? The hole was filled with dirt before I cleaned it.

Hi everyone, I have just received an email from a Palaeontologist from AOC in lightning ridge confirming this isn't just a piece of potch (opal) it is actually a small twig of possibly a fern or conifer tree dating back approximately 100 million years!! Even though it is only 7mm X 2mm I am over the moon excited! What a little beauty!

Hello all i keep finding these and hope they are crab claws or similar and hopefully not just something off a tree. I attached photos of four although I have a number more. At least I’m pretty sure you won’t say they’re concretions. Thank you in advance
