jacob posted a topic in Fossil IDHello, If you have seen my prior posts, it would appear I'm on a lucky streak... I found the blade of this sharks tooth at the fleet, Weymouth It is from the middle Oxford Clay (Upper callovian) - specifically the Q. Lamberti/ C. scarburgense subzone bondary I believe it is Sphenodus longidens, though it is hard to tell without the root! Any help or thoughts would be much appreciated Cheers, Jacob.
I found this a few years ago on a geology trip in Weymouth and never managed to ID it. It’s definitely got a shape to it and rings at each end, along with some pyrite. I would love to know if it is a bone of some sort!! I have more pictures if wanted.
Could somebody please help me, I went fossil hunting on The Jurassic Coast in Weymouth called Charmouth Beach. We found this and I’m unsure what it is. I have tried to remove some of the stone surrounding but struggling. I’m concerned I’m going to damage it. It appear to be a bronze colour when I clean it. I hope someone can help, thank you
