Before I get stoned to death for posting this here (lame pun intended)…let me just say that I honestly have no clue what I’m looking at here but I am not suggesting, nor am I of the mind—that it’s a fossil, but it was just so strange lookin’ that I couldn’t help my curiosity, so here I am asking for opinions on what caused this to form and what it’s composed of most likely (if anything other than limestone, that is…. (-__-). location- far nw San Antonio, tx , just outside the foothills of the hillcountry (helotes, tx) Again, I do want to apologize if this belongs in a strictly geological forum somewhere, I’d have probably posted it there instead, had I been aware of one existing which was similar to this platform but exclusively for weird ugly rock identification help (lol). Thanks in advance.

Hello guys! Me and my friend found these while hanging out. The location is Bulgaria, Europe, a village in the eastern part. They were among the rocks on the road. They look a bit irony. We have a few of them and all are different sizes. I am attaching photos of two of them. Do you know what these might be?

Hey y’all. What are these, how old could they be? These were found in the Pflugerville area of Travis County central Texas. 6”/150mm scale next to them for reference. Any insight would be appreciated, TIA!!

Here’s my fossil question this week: Every now and then people speak of “Hubbell Megalodons” or “Hubbell-type Megalodons”, and everyone seem to know what that means. Maybe I’m the only one, but I have no clue what that is. Can y’all enlighten me on the subject? I know Hubbell is a world renowned collector of shark fossils, and I assume he first found or recognized these type of Megalodon teeth? Pictures, explainations, literature are all welcome and encouraged.

Sorry if someone has already posted this paper, but I have searched TFF and not found it. News story: “Cartilage cells, chromosomes and DNA preserved in 75 million-year-old baby duck-billed dinosaur” Paper: “Evidence of proteins, chromosomes and chemical markers of DNA in exceptionally preserved dinosaur cartilage”

Hi. I’ve been going through and preparing some old fossils that I’ve had. I got these about 20 years ago at a rock show so sadly I don’t have much info. The seller said they were found near a fish skull I’ve also been working on. When I got them there was just a small patch showing. Any ideas? Thank you in advance. There was also what I believe to be a small amphibian jaw in the matrix also.about 1/2”-1” long that you can’t see in this pictures. But that’s for another post LOL!

Here we go again! Even with my eyes closed tight and hallucinating, I would never be able to come up with this description. Of course, found while cruising "The Auction Site", I found this diddy. Described as a fossil "dog skull", this winner can be had for a mere $999. + shipping. Now let's not all go scrambling for the bid button at once. I am sure there are plenty more to be had in the sellers construction rock pile out back. This one should be filed under the title "Seriously?!!!".
