Here are some miscellaneous finds out of a creek in Wise County, Texas. The one interesting fossil is the rare (for here) gastropod tentatively identified as "Cinclidonema texanum". I have never seen any other posted anywhere. We have collected quite a lot from this creek but at this point the creek seemed to be played out.

Hello everyone. I would like to first say thank you all for having me and please feel free to give me any advice on how I can make my posts better so that all can enjoy. Several years back I started finding literally tons of fossils in my back yard which was the catalyst to my newfound interest. Having said that, the only ones I have been able to identify myself were the dozens and dozens of ammonites, most of which I used in my 9ft, mostly fossil, backyard fireplace which came out amazingly. I would like to start by trying to have this little guy identified if at all possible. I first thought it to be petrified wood but the more I research the more I doubt that idea. I live in North Texas directly on the wise county & denton county boundary. Again, thank you all for accepting me in this circle and I hope to learn as much as I can as I am deeply interested in this subject but horribly uninformed.

I surprised my wife for our 30th anniversary with a trip to the Choctaw Grand Theater in Durant, Ok over the weekend. And, I convinced her (after studying my geologic maps of the area ) that cutting down through Gainesville and Decatur to Weatherford and then back home to Abilene would be a shortcut. I located a couple of likely road cuts and asked if she minded if I stopped for a look. So, she said, well, you made my weekend, so, sure! You can stop at a road cut or two. The couple I found were in the Goodland/Walnut Clay most likely, or possibly in the Kiamichi. Found these irregular urchins on my stops. Not in the best shape, but I'm happy with them. Looks like they are Pliotoxaster whitei and H.mexicanus, but, I'm sure open to opinions.
