Baron
I am trying to identify what kind of fossil this is. This is the background. I found this in our backyard rock garden about 55 years ago. Since my uncle worked at Fresno State College (now California State University Fresno) in the 1940s, and was the previous owner of my family's house, I think it came from the College's collection. The specimen is clearly an animal bone and I think part of an upper leg bone or pelvis.

fifbrindacier
Do you have a more precise idea of its geologic age and of where it was found ? "On ne voit bien que par le coeur, l'essentiel est invisible pour les yeux." (Antoine de Saint-Exupéry) "We only well see with the heart, the essential is invisible for the eyes." Rockwood
A better look at the ends would be helpful. This doesn't look quite like bone to me.
