Tetralophodon tooth?

I purchased this as a Tetralophodon tooth, Miocene/Pliocene, Northwest China.  Is it actually a "four ringed" Tetralophodon tooth?  Help please.

That isn't the typical kind of mammal question for the forum.  It's more like, "Is this a horse" or maybe, "Is this an oreodont?"

You might have to wait for a while (at least over the weekend) to get an educated opinion on that.  You need a mammal specialist and one with some experience with probiscideans.

Thanks for the information.  I don't mind waiting.  I was beginning to wonder if this thread was not posting properly.

Probably not. As @siteseer said it will take a while for an expert in this area to find it and help out.
