Trilobright
Hello! I’m an amateur collector of fossils, and I recently purchased a Spinosaurus tooth. I cannot tell if the tip of its tooth was replaced and if it has any repaired cracks. Do you guys have any thoughts on this?
LordTrilobite
Yes it seems to have been repaired at one point. But the tip seems legit. I don't see any red flags that this might be a composite. So a pretty nice tooth. Olof Moleman AKA Lord Trilobite
DeepTimeIsotopes
It seems to be glued a little off but I’d say those are the associated pieces. There are ways to attempt to straighten them with multiple threads written on the subject here but it’s a good tooth nonetheless.
