Fossil ID please

I found this fossil on a beach on the north shore of Lake Michigan near the Mackinac bridge. It’s about 3 cm. It looks kind of like a shell but I’m not sure. Can anyone tell me what it is?

I would say rugose coral, likely Devonian in age.

Rugose coral -- nice specimen. Should be many more, bigger and even better, where you found that one. Great Lakes shorelines are an awesome place to find fossils that are worn by waves and sand and show the internal structure of marine organisms. You should be able to find colonial and chain corals as well.
