It also resembles Jeletzkya douglassae (squid) to an extant. Possibly both in association? Of course, if we consider Occam's razor, it's a molt.

  • Thank You 1

Fossil hunting is easy -- they don't run away when you shoot at them!

I found this nice piece of bark on Saturday. It was an open find. I believe it is Diaphorodendron rimosum with a nice association of Spirorbis. It measures around 4 inches by 4 inches.

If I am mistaken about the variety, please correct me.

That would be my best guess. Palaeoxyris lewisi. It doesn't look narrow enough overall to be Palaeoxyris prendelli and I think the bands in Palaeoxyris appendiculatum are narrower. is this from Braceville?

How about the fish scale, I assume that is from the creek? I'm very jealous of the scale, too - haven't found one yet and I think they are really beautiful.

Yes, the fish scale is from the creek.

Here is a cute little shark egg case I found on the 17th of Nov. this year. It was an open find and I just have the one half. It's my best shark egg case thus far.

Palaeoxyris lewisi

Rock On !!

That's a keeper! Don't you just hate finding only half and it's the best you've found?

Mark, I always like finding both halves.

But I am also happy to find anything nice.

So, I guess one is always better than none.

Rock On !!
