Kittenmittens
Hello all, looking for some opinions on this piece. Not worried about it being composited as long as it is all real cave bear bone and nothings cast. Thanks in advance and happy New Year!
fossil_sea_urchin
I can't see any fake bones, but the anatomy in the hand doesn't look right like how there are more bones in some than in others. It looks composited to me.
LordTrilobite
The anatomy looks mostly good from what I can see. I think one phalange is missing though. I think on the 4th toe. 1 Olof Moleman AKA Lord Trilobite

BearCommunicator
Hi Folks, The bones look real and look like cave bear bones. However, some bones are missing, especially metacarpal bones between the wrist and the fingers, 4 of which should have 3 phalanges (just as in your hand), 1 of which should have 2 (just as in your thumb). fossils-uk
this is a composite made from several individuals. it isnt "fake" but should have been labelled as a composite as 99% of the bones are genuine.
LabRatKing
Fairly well done composite with minor reconstruction. Nice display piece, but I agree it should be sold as such. However if the price is low enough, I'd display it in my Wunderkammer for sure.
