Need ID on Myrtle Beach fossil (vertebra?)

Found on Myrtle Beach, Jan 3, 2020.

This tiny round fossil is smooth on the top, perhaps a quarter inch thick, and has an unusual indentation on the bottom. 

I immediately thought some kind of fish vertebra, but that smoothness at the top stops me. Not sure why a vertebra would have such a smooth side.

Interesting! I've only ever found angular turtle pieces. I didn't realize they could be so round. Thank you!
