Hi everyone, the Singapore Fossils Collector had our annual meet-up recently. As usual, there was food, laughter and lots of new faces! It was the biggest meet-up I've ever had at my place, with 30 people in my house that day.

It is also the last meet-up at my house as I will have new responsibilities (marriage, new house etc) soon so I won't be able to host any other gatherings for a long time.

First up, a quick look at my room:

Thankfully, my brother was willing to let me temporarily display some fossils in his room:

The newest display corner. My favorite stuff here are the Singapore fossils:

Here are some old toys mostly from the Jurassic Park series. The oldest toy here was bought in 1993. They belonged to me as a kid. The 4 books there are authored by me:

This is the "changing corner". I only set this table up during the gatherings and as some of you might notice, the fossils here change every year:

One of the members here, who was trained as a geologist, broke up some fossil-rich rocks he found in Singapore:

Lo and behold! Singapore fossils!

And of course, what kind of gathering would it be without some good ol' trading?

29.thumb.jpg.45df84c0b71eee2cf3497d67185f0588.jpg

And of course, pizza!

That's me in the violet shirt on the right. Meanwhile, the kids are playing games on the TV. Even their attention span for dinosaurs isn't on par with the adults:

All the faces who came to the gathering:

All in all, we had a wonderful time this year. There were so many new faces, there were trades, there was pizza, laughter, and plenty of fossil-related chit chat! If any of you pass by Singapore, don't hesitate to ring us up! Next year will be in someone else's house but I'm sure it will be even better!

Something tells me that would be different if the dinos were still alive! ;)

Once again, I very much enjoyed a glimpse at the event and mostly at your diverse array of high quality fossils. Thanks, and congratulations on your marriage and new home.

@-Andy- as always a great report on your gathering, I would have to bring a few fossils to get your Saber Tooth car skull- love the cats. Thanks for posting and good luck on your new endeavors. Lastly, I understand about the kids, my grandson comes over and is surrounded by tons of fossils and he couldn’t care less about them. Lol

Like everyone we always look forward to your gatherings. You have a great collection and it's always nice to see it in total.   Not sure if you are getting married or are but congratulations either way, it's a good step in life.  Hopfully you will be able to come to the Tucson show next year or soon so we can meet.  Lots of collectors in Singapore and hopefully new upcoming one.

I am sure if the dinos were still alive, the kids would be more focused on running for their lives.

I am getting married in Oct 2020 so it's time for me to shift my focus from endless fossil buying to planning for my future. I do wish to go to Tucson in 2021 before I have any kids. Once children come, it's gonna be much harder for me to travel far
