Hope I am getting better at posting what I need ID for. Is this a fossil or a rock that just looks like a claw? Most all my rocks came from Mississippi while in MS Gem & Mineral Club hunting in and around Central MS. Some are from the Big Black river beach area, some are from other areas but sorry I can not tell you exactly, been way too many years.

Fossil hunting is easy -- they don't run away when you shoot at them!

Glad to see you posting again, Deb. :)That's a very interesting rock/fossil.  I'd definitely hang on to it and put it on my interesting UIR (Un-Identified Rocks) shelf. I agree with @Rockwood regarding ID and @Mark Kearns regarding disposition.

BTW, are you still awaiting the Fla. Peace River Trip details for newbies as I am?  :P
