Jurassic Shells?

What are these called and age? They came from Mississippi and I was told they were from jurassic period

I'm thinking Cretaceous is more likely. They look like the oyster Pycnodonte.

The Cretaceous period was the last period of the mesozoic era, so still Dino territory.

Cretaceous is arguably the most famous of the dinosaur eras.  The asteroid impact ended the Cretaceous.

Dinosaurs went extinct at the end of the Cretaceous, 65mya (million years ago).

Northern Mississippi has a lot of Upper Cretaceous.  These shells look like Pycnodonte mutabilis, which is abundant in some of the chalk formations.  There is no exposed Jurassic in Mississippi or anywhere along the Gulf Coast.  You can find Jurassic strata deep in the subsurface, buried under kilometers of Teriary and Cretaceous sediments.

Most probably from roadcuts where the appropriate formation(s) is exposed. In some places fossils are so plentiful you can't take a step without stepping on one or more, and this is especially true in the case of marine fossils.
