Like Franz said, "if this is your only one I would not polish".     and also, not all echy's will take a polish.   If you have lots, just start playin.   Its like most things that are polished.  You start with the coarse grit,  (aluminum oxid bit) and then go onto sanding barrels down to 220 and then onto hand sanding with wet/dry to about 600 grit and follow up with a small polishing wheel.  I use stainless steel ruge.
