New small feathered dinosaur was not fully grown but had elaborate feathers. Bone histology shows it was not an adult. Also shows paravian dinosaurs grew differently than birds.

Oh boy, I can see it now. 

 

A new discovery shows that many Dinosaurs were  Born with Feathers and lost them as they Aged

Theory speculates that adults added sub-cutaneous fat deposits to replace thermal insulation value of feathers in youth

 

I'm digging out my baby pictures now to check for feathers in my own youth.  Not saying I have sub-cutaneous fat in my "adult" age, just saying.
