Is this a tooth or is this nothing?

Was on holiday in costa rica 6 months ago and found this on the beach at the end of a small estuary.

I guess it washed down to the beach, I'm pretty sure it's no aquatic animal tooth and I'm not even sure if it's a tooth. My only guess was crocodile but not even sure on that theres no look of enamel. Possibly a bit of bone that's been weathered into this shape.

Any ideas?

Struggling to add pictures because of the size limits

The piece is around

2.5 inches long

1.25 inches wide

Looks like a really worn Shark tooth to me. Do you have more pictures of the back or other angles? If you reduce the size of your photos you can fit more into a single post, otherwise, just refresh the page after uploading a pic and you will be able to add another in a reply.

Agree no enamel, probably bone, also it looks like the bone structure is showing on the top of it.

I agree with bone as it seems to have cancellous tissue. In order to rule out a modern, non-fossilized bone, you may wish to try the burn test by applying a flame to an end. If it gives off a smell reminiscent of burnt hair, that would mean collagen is present and that this would be a modern bone.
