0lderthandirt
I found these all on the same hillside in Arizona, redwall limestone, Mooney member, Mississippian. I'm pretty sure 1 is a Hexactanellid sponge. The others I'm less sure of and would like to hear more experienced opinions on them. The second picture is just the backside. Thanks for looking. DPS Ammonite
1-3 and 5 are Actinocoelia maeandrina sponges in Permian Kaibab Fm. chert. Some of the other might be. I have never found or seen any sponges from the Redwall. http://geology.byu.edu/Home/sites/default/files/actinocoelia-maeandrina-finks-from-the-kaibab-limestone-of-northern-arizona-leland-r.-griffin.pdf 6 My goal is to leave no stone or fossil unturned. I almost didn't even include 5, in fact I put it back down and almost didn't even bring it home today. Will your next answer to my question be no?
