Fossildude19
Looks like paint, with no fossil visible. 2 Tim - VETERAN SHALE SPLITTER VFOTM --- APRIL - 2015 __________________________________________________ "In every walk with nature one receives far more than he seeks." Pterygotus
I agree looks like a bad reproduction. I see a lot of mistakes in the anatomy.
caldigger
I think the dark splotch in the middle may be something. Whether it is actually an insect will be very debatable. All the rest is paint.
Fossildude19
Cropped, with black and white reversed. This looks like a complete paint job, to me. It looks like a small X shape was painted/inked on, then the blobsquatch added on top. Joe_17
Having pinned hundreds of insects and having insect fossils , this all looks completely painted. As the comments above have already stated :/ .
Ludwigia
It could also be a mineral stain, but it's certainly not an insect as far as I can see. Greetings from the Lake of Constance. Roger http://www.steinkern.de/
FrozenFlame
It doesn't show any features that a normal insect fossil should have. Like the supposed wings (I honestly don't know which part are the wings...) are generally a shade lighter than the body of the insect, as seen in Fossildude's example. Mark Kmiecik
I like the way the legs are attached to the wing. Mark. Fossil hunting is easy -- they don't run away when you shoot at them!
