TheRocksWillShoutHisGlory
I found this among material from Aurora NC. I have read that most bone material from there is Puffin. The internal structure and weight appear to be avian, but I can't place a bone that looks like this on a bird, albeit puffins are not typical birds. I was also wondering if it could be a small Alligator scapula?
Pterygotus
It’s definitely a bone. Some more pictures would help a lot.
Mahnmut
Could be a coracoid, although I cannot find an image of a puffins. In most birds they are much more slender, but the general shape could fit I think. sixgill pete
Some more photos, close up with the object centered from all angles and in focus would be helpful. I have tried to enlarge these to look and and they become blurry. There is a very good section on avians in the Lee Creek Volumes from the Smithsonian. Not sure weather it is volume 1,2,3 or 4. You can find these online easily. Plax
I think you're right. I was looking at the outline and didn't realize it had a flat edge.

Sorry for the pics, it was with a document cam. Glad you could ID it anyway.
